Newspaper

This morning Hogan had me chuckling when he asked for the paper to read with his breakfast. You never fully realize your habits and patterns until your child starts copying you.

Making cookies

Hogan and I tried our hand at making our first batch of sugar cookies (and when I say tried our hand I mean we used the cookie cutters- Pillsbury provided the dough). Hogan loved it. We have some funny looking cookies where he only cut out a piece of the shape, but it adds character- I think Santa will appreciate them when the time comes around to make some for Christmas Eve. Hogan especially liked eating the dough. He'd cut out a cookie and then take a bite. Cookie, bite, cookie, bite. We had a nice rhythm going. He picked the star cookie cutter as his favorite and as he would lift the cookie cutter to see his newly made star he would exclaim, "Oh my goodness!" It was very fun.

Thanksgiving

We have a lot to be thankful for. It was nice to have several days to spend at Oma and Opa's house. We enjoyed delicious food, company, and many hours of post-Thanksgiving shopping (Did I say I was thankful for grandparents who willingly and lovingly entertained a certain toddler so that Troy and I could shop and who woke up with me at 5am so I could hit the sales early? I told you- we have a lot to be thankful for!)

Nana and Hogan

These pics are from Tia's birthday weekend. Of course, Tia isn't in any of the pictures. It wouldn't be a celebration without Hogan hogging up the film (or maybe without a mom obsessed with capturing anything having to do with Hogan. Do you think he'll have an inflated ego?) However, Nana did make it into the pictures and the two of them were being funny and silly together.

5 in the Bed

We were acting out the song today, "There were 5 in the bed and the little one said, "Roll Over!" So they all rolled over and one fell out..." Hogan's take on acting it out was getting all the animals lined up and under the blanket, then ambushing them all. He also preferred that no one roll out of the bed. If I moved one out from under the blanket he told me, "No." and went to go get them. It was kind of sweet- like he didn't want anyone to fall out of bed.
